Hellbound?

Hellbound: Hellraiser II might be the best of that series, and though it's low budget it isn't short on imagination. I've always loved the way it depicted Hell (or what might be Hell), with a sprawling matte painting of the labyrinth and the colossal Leviathan spewing out dark energy. So this was a bit of an experiment with different software. First I modelled a labyrinth in Maya and then use Ps/Ae to get a basic tone that I was looking for. Then I processed the intermediate image along with the matte painting from Hellbound through AI and after a few iterations got a result I liked, which I then did post work on in Ps. I don't know if it was any quicker than if I'd painted the whole thing from scratch in Ps, but what it does do is allow for happy accidents and random elements to enter the process, which may or may not be of use. I don't know that incorporating AI actually makes a piece like this easier, but it does make it more interesting.
